Unfortunately I’m almost sounding like a broken record, Seniors were in the game up until the last 10min, probably needed to take more of our opportunities in the 3rd. Over the coming weeks we should be getting back to pretty much full strength, so let hope we can just make a few slight adjustments & start winning games of footy, we are not far away.... read more

The last few days has seen increasing uncertainty and a turn of events unlike anything we’ve seen. We are being guided by the league and ultimately the AFL as a governing body.
As it stands the season will start in late May, with the start date To be reviewed on May 2.
In regard to training the leaders will be in touch on a plan going forward although, we are lead a little bit by EFNL and ultimately the gov health organisations.
Our main priority at this time the health of our players, coaches, support staff and supporters.
The club understands this is a difficult period as we were all looking forward to the opportunity that is in front of us in 2020 and we still aim to have an impact on the competition in what ever form it takes over the next few months.
All we ask is while there is a bit of uncertainty , players take care of themselves and families and it is important to stay active & stay in touch with one and other.
We as a club need to stay fluid and ready for whatever changes that occur over the next few months and be prepared once we get the opportunity to start our life in premier division.
Stay hungry, stay connected and if anyone has any issues or questions the club is here to support you.

In what has already been a difficult and sad day for the DEFC family we have learnt this afternoon of the passing of one of our favorite daughters Anne Stevenson. Many will have met Anne when buying a drink over the bar and will have had the pleasure of Anne’s dry sense of humour and at times motherly instincts in bringing our players in to line (in a manner only Anne could get away with).
Whilst Anne has fought hard over the last few years to overcome her illness, she continued to be part of our Club and gave of her time when maybe she should have be looking after herself. But Anne just loved being around the Club and said it was the best medicine she could get.
Our deepest condolences go out to Anne’s partner Simon Roos, Anne’s children Matt and Sarah, and the Stevenson and Roos families
The extended DEFC family are saddened by the passing of Melissa Lee in the early hours of today. Melissa was a member of our Committee and only resigned late last year to focus on her health. Her positive can do attitude will be sadly missed by all. Our sincere condolences go out to Melissa’s daughter Eden, her family, and many close supportive friends. RIP Melissa.... read more
