2017 marks 50 years strong!

2017 sees DEFC marking its 50 year anniversaryand  the Lions are on the hunt for past players, coaches,  officials, committee people, family and friends to reconnect and join the celebrations. Over these past 50 years many memorable achievements have been made both on and off the field, and the club would love to hear from anyone who has a story to tell, photos to share or any other information to pass on.

DEFC 50th Anniversary Gold Ball
A night to remember was had by all who attended the DEFC 50th Anniversary Gold Ball at the Manningham Function Centre. DEFC player and MC for the night Matt Bremner did a great job keeping the formalities of the evening on point, some of which included Past Player & Life Member Geoff Johnston taking us all back with his recollections of the early days of the club, and Club President Michael Gordon announcing the Club’s new charity initiative of partnering with the Type 1 Foundation (diabetes).

It wasn’t long before our DJ took over and had everyone up on their feet dancing the night away.  A fantastic night celebrating an important milestone for the club and creating more great moments for the memory bank of the mighty Lions.
